Import Options

Download Attachments: Slack export does not include attachments but includes links that can be used to download them. Checking this option tells Message Crawler to access attachments and download them to a local folder. Depending on size of data, this can take significant amount of time.

Link to existing files only: If you have already downloaded attachments and you do want Message Crawler to attempt to download failed attachments again, check this box. You do not have to check this to skip already downloaded attachments, those will be automatically skipped.

User Relativity Path: Message Crawler will store absolute path to attachments however if you are converting Slack data to a DAT file, you may want to use relative paths in your deliverable.

Save raw JSON: Original json files will be split into individual messages and saved as native files. Having original json attached to a record can help if you are loading DAT file to review system (no RSMF conversion). In a situation when detailed examination of individual message is required, native file can be used.

Generate URL files for links: When users send attachments to linked content such as Google Docs, URL files can link to appropriate located and if password is available during review, those files can be examined. Google Docs files cannot be downloaded locally.

Document Numbering, Time Zones and Date Filter

Numbering: Specify starting number to use. While numbering may seem not important since Relativity will assign its own control numbers, you should make sure numbering is unique. This will help you load overlay files into Relativity with additional metadata. Identifier for overlays is File Name and if there are duplicates in that field, overlay will not load.

Convert Time Zone: you can perform time zone conversion on the fly as you load data into memory.

Date Filter: You can apply data filter to include only messages between specific dates. This will limit number of documents loaded to grid.

Other Options

Save URL Path: Specify path where to save URL and JSON files

Save attachments Path: Specify path where to store attachments or where already downloaded attachments are located.

Import Slack to Memory: This button will start import process. Attachments will be downloaded if appropriate check box is selected.

Clear: Will clear loaded data from memory and unlock controls.

Load to Grid: Transfer data to grid for examination and RSMF conversion

Export to DAT: In case your goal is not RSMF conversion, you can export data into a DAT file.

Error Log: Error log can show you messages, warning and errors generated by loading of data. You should examine error log to make sure no critical errors occurred.

Export to RSMF: This is a quick way to export RSMF files without loading data to grid first. If you feel that default options are sufficient, use this option to reduce number of steps.
